Hello
We're just getting started!
I'm the product of a mis-spent childhood; whilst my peers were learning to drive and going out to the pub, I was swapping out op-amps in my CD player or figuring out how to send computer programs over CB Radio with my geeky friends.
I started in the 70's like most children of my age, by dismantling and ruining most of the electronics in the house... my re-mantling skills did not match my dismantling prowess.
When computers landed in the UK in the early 80's I could finally ditch my dreams of having a PDP-11, just like Leeds University, by having my own computer!
I cut my teeth on the Sinclair ZX81, the Research Machines Limited 380Z and the BBC Micro - the king of the home computer - don't argue - before getting into these 'PC' computers in the 80's and then finding that I'd made a terrible mistake when I didn't keep up with the DEC's and Apple's that I coasted by.
Fast forward 45 years and rekindling my love of retro tech, from 80's computers back to 70's HiFi and hoping to share the spark that made that time so magical.
